    never attacked or beseiged nor. There is no local tradition attached to the castle.
    It had no dungeon but people were foully put to death in the castle grounds on a place called the gallows hill. During the rebellion of '98 Squire Moore who was a Protestant hid some of the rebels in it.
    There is a ruined church in this locality called OReillys chapel. Boyles vault stands on the ruins. It was abandoned in the year 1610.
