  1. The patron Saint of this district is St Brigid. The parish church is dedicated to her. Once when this St was walking through the parish. She met a druid with two children. He told her that he was going to dround the children. The St took the children with her and baptised them. She had no monastery here. She worked no miracles that I know of. She is buried in Down-Patrick. There is a well dedicated to her. Most of the girls in the parish are called after her. The saints day is not observed as a holiday in the parish.
