  1. There are no hedge-schools in my district but there is an (of) old school in this locality called Benson's school. It is supposed to have been built about 150 years ago. The money was given by a man called Squire Moore who was very wealty. At one time it was the only school my district. It was built principally for the children of the tenants on Squire Moore's estate. Irish was not taught. The only subjects taught were English & Arithmetic. The writing was done with chalk on a slate. the school was a boarding school and nine or ten pupils boarded there. There teacher Mr Good who taught many
