  1. Local Songs (continued)

My grandmother lives at the foot of the hill

    (continued from previous page)
Dear! what a fuss these old ladies do make
I believe in my heart they do make a mistake
For if all the young ladies of men were afraid,
Why Granny herself would have died an old maid.
Died an old maid! died an old maid,
why Granny herself would have died an old maid.

  2. Local Songs - Adam

Come all ye maids that's fair and handsome, ¶ While my tears in vain do flow

    I
Adam was king of all nations,
And lord of the universe round,
    His happiness was not completed,
    Until a mess-mate he found
    II
Adam was put in a slumber,
And a rib taken out of his side,
And when he awoke in a wonder,
He beheld his most beautiful bride.
    III
She was not taken out of his side foot,
    For to be trampled upon,
She was not taken out of his head,
To reign and triumph o'er man.
