    along the shores of the Loch-na-dTrí -gCaol. Of course the boundary line between Lattoon and Fintavin was not the same as now. Torrential floods moved the boundary line of the river since that time. As Cromwell moved along the shores of the lake a young man, a son of the O'Reillys was fishing at the lake and had had a considerable amount of fish caught when the soldiers were passing by. They stopped and accosted him and admired the splendid catch of fish and as Cromwell examined the fishes the young O'Reilly offered some of the best to him and he accepted the offer. He asked him his name and made inquiries about his people with the result that his father never was removed in the lands taken from him. Some time later he got a lease from the government including Loch-na-dtrí gCaol and seven yards over Winter mark to dry his nets. Since that time the O'Reilly's were our local landlords until about ninety years ago one of the O'Reilly girls married a man named Nugent from Mount Nugent. He continued as landlord then. He had three sons and one of them became a Count in the Austrian Army and was called "Count Nugent". The male portion of the family died and the lands then reverted to Katherine Nugent.
