    for the windows. The floors were made of clay. Half-doors were common long ago, and they are common yet.
    The fire was made of sticks and turf. Rush candles and resin candles were used. Rush candles were made from the pith of rushes soaked in bacon grease. I do not know how resin candles were made. The candles were made locally.
