  1. Long ago the people used not to have the same customs as we have for making candles and a lot of other things.
    When they were making candles the used to get rushes and leave them to season. They would peel them and dip them in grease and after a while use them. An old man named James Dalton of Ballinafid was a great basketmaker. He could make all sorts of rod work. One day he made a bee hive of rods and wove straw in and out through them
    A woman named Mrs Ford used to weave wool. First she used to get wool and weave it and then make it into cloth. The people used not to send the clothes away to the mill but they used to make them at home.
