    the new goverment got in they had to pay no more rent to Lord Lanesbouragh as the people brought out the land. They divided the land into small farms. If anyone made any improvement to their farms or houses the rent would be made higher.

  2. Long ago the landlord in this district was Lord Lanesborough. He lived in Quivy. He used to divide the land between the families. Some of the rents were very high.
