    Old Sayings
    Here are some old sayings I heard from my father.
    1. It is not lucky to open an umbrella over your head in a house.
    2. It's not right to carry a churn dash on your shoulder. It would stunt your growth.
    3. If you were hit on the head with an elder stick, it would stunt your growth.
    4. If you pass under a ladder it would stunt your growth.
    5. Hear, see and say nothing is a good advice.
    6. Less said is easiest mended.
    7. It's all well that ends well.
    8. Tricking never ends well.
    9. Go beg from a beggar, you will never be rich.
    10. Any person with small ears is said to have little wit.
    11. The way you rear the pup, you have the dog.
    12. Spare the rod and you spoil the child.
    13. If you want a thing done right, do it yourself.
    14. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
    15. Persons that talk to themselves are said to have money in the bank.
    16. This is a true saying that if you kill a swallow the cow you claim will milk blood twice (i.e. your best cow).
