  1. About 46 or 47 years ago there was a big snow in this part of Wicklow.
In some places the snow was to a height of 10 feet.
The sheep were all drifted and people had to dig for them through the drifts.
They had to dig holes where they thought the water was and carry it home to their cattle.
The houses were covered and some people were kept in without any light.
In those times it wasn't every one had a clock or a watch in their houses.
The only way they knew the time was by the sub shining when they couldn't see the sun they slept for a few days.
During that storm there was an old man to be buried in this neighbourhood they had to climb the drifts with the coffin on their shoulders to get to the Burial Ground in Baltiboys.
Then a severe frost came before the snow went and the rivers were frozen people walked across the rivers the ice was so hard.
The road contractors had to get a number of men with shovels and any where the snow was very high they had to dig a tunnel through it.
