It was so called because turf used to be cut in it long ago. There is a bridge called Saul's bridge. It was called so because a man named Saul lived there long ago.
    There is another field called Gailey's Field. It is in the town-land of Rathmafishogue. It is called so because a man by the name Gailey used to live there long ago. There is a pigs field in the townland of Scotland. It is called so because there are pigs in the field.
