  2. There is a crossroads between Castledermott and Carlow. Some years ago, a man named John Wall was killed there. Ever since there is a cross on the wall, near the spot where he was killed.

  3. An old road goes through Johnstown Lane and leads to the Half-way Ford. This road is seldom used now, except by the workmen of the lane, when going to Miss Nolan's shop. The shop is situated on the left-hand side of the road. About then years ago, a man was coming
