  1. Potatoes are grown on our farm. We sow about two acres each year and this amount never vary. My father prepares the ground. The ground is manured in no way before turned up. They are sown in drills. A plough is used to make the drills. Wooden ploughs were used long ago. There are none left now. The spades are bought in a shop. The people help each other when sowing. They are stored in pits. The potatoes that grow best are "uptodates" and "skerries" and "aranbanners".
