  1. There is a prayer which the old people say. When they get into bed at night while waiting to go to sleep:-
"As I lie on my right hand side
I pray to God to be my guide
    If any evil touches me
    O blessed Mother awaken me,
If I die before I wake
I pray to God my soul to take
There are four corners on my bed
And there four Angels round me spread
    Mathew, Martin, Luke and John
God bless me on this bed that I lie on".
    Amen.
This is a prayer which used be said on awakening in the morning:-
When the eastern sky is red
I must raise my little head
When the lark sings loud and gay
I must rise with him and pray.
    Jesus when I first arise
