  2. 1. There is a holy well situated about a quarter of a mile from where I live. It is called St Ciaran's well. People do stations at this well in the month of September, as St Ciaran's Day is on the 9th of that month, and they also take away the water from it, for cures. It is a small spring well, with a hawthorn bush growing over it. When the holy Monks lived in Clonmacnois
