    him the child would be better after
    the third bottle. When he returned
    home his wife did as was directed.
    After the third bottle Dan was
    quite well, and lived to be a fine
    strong boy, until last April 1938,
    when he got diphteria and scarlet
    fever which swept him away after
    a week's illness at the age of 29 years.
    This incident happened about 22
    years ago, and all the people in this
    district know how he was cured.
    Another young girl, named Mary
    Kate Clare, Tomanine, Rathnure, aged
    9 years got ill the same time as
    Daniel Quigley. Dr. Kelly, Killanne,
    the local doctor, failed also in her
    case, and as she was complaining
    in the same way as Daniel Quigley
    her father had recourse to the herb
    "doctor", or "quack", who treated her in
    the same way as Daniel Quigley
