Most of the houses are slated but some are thatched and some covered all over with felt. There are only six very old people living in it and the most of them can tell stories in English. Their names are Mrs Carley Killurin, aged eighty - two, Mr Berney Cornwell, aged eighty - four, Mr Boylan Cornwall aged seventy - five and Mrs Fox Killurin aged seventy - two. There are seen or eight houses in ruins around our house. The land is very fertile. The names of the woods are Carrigmannon wood, Ash wood, Slaney wood.
The name of the river is the River Slaney, and there are stories connected with it.
The above tells you something of my district.
