    the ditches and their mouths stained purple with them. On "All Hallow Eve" at night everybody enjoys himself or herself cracking nuts.
    In Autumn we go picking nuts and it very (is) amusing especially when there are a number of girls together because as the proverb is, "the more we are together the merrier we will be."
    A favourite game in our school is hide and seek, and it is played in this manner. About thirteen or fourteen girls gathers together. Then one girl gives it out as we say, little men ariving cattle, do you hear the money rattle, one, two, sky blue, all out but you. About two girls stay in the "den" and the others go and hide. When they are hidden the others go to look for them and try to catch them, and the two that are caught last have to stay in "den" the next time.
    Another favourite game is "colours" it is played thus. A crowd of girls goes together then three girls are picked
