The hills of Bree and valleys round were smiling fondly
Upon the men who brought to them a pile of victory
Enniscorthy town and Gorey now have not much to say
About their Stars or how they fell so early in the day.7
It was the boys of Ballyhogue that brought them to the ground
Tho' well they played the first half hour the second it was found
When self-defence did there commence, the stars were seen to fall
Aye, yes they were upon the ground more often than the ball.8
And when the game was over excitement was so high
The ringing cheer for Ballyhogue it really rent the sky
They were raised upon men's shoulders and greeted o'er and o'er
For showing the pluck of Ballyhogue in Wexford Park once more9
Success attend you, Ballyhogue, I wish you soon again
May victory shine till the end of time upon your gallant men
And upon your noble chairman, who is much rejoiced to see
Brave Laurence Murphy with his team, played round the hills of Bree------------Phil Lennon composed :-Jack Murphy shot a crow
