The patron saint of the parish - Tintern, New Ross, Co Wexford is St Martin who lived in that parish. The parish church is dedicated to him, and also a miraculous holy well which he blessed and which is situated in the corner of a field in Kinnagh. During his life-time this saint worked many miracles, and there was much sorrow and regret when he met his death by been ground up in his own mill, on Nov 11th 1619. In memory of his fatal accident all millers in this parish cease their milling on that (date) from the hours eleven o'clock to one o'clock - the hours - between which he died.
