  1. Travelling folk still call at my home as it is a very old custom in Ireland. However they are very scarce now since the County home was built and the old age pensions and widows pensions came into operation here. Still the tin-smiths, cheery and light-hearted ; without a home for shelter ; travelling along from place to place begging alms for his maintainance, and training his children in the same direction so that they in turn will maintain themselves as cheap as their ancestors. They swop donkeys and gets boot, they also make tin-ware to sell. The majority of the tin-smiths buy drink for the money received. In many cases
