  1. The most harmful weeds are thistles, crow-foot, "robin run the hedge" and scutch grass and Preshaugh. Some of the other weeds are nettles, Dockans, Furáns, dandelion, Gosthun. All these weeds spread and grow rapidly and make the soil poor and injure the crops.
    Furáns grow always on rich land and thistles grow very rapidly on rich land. An herb called Horehound is good for colds. Dandelion is good for the blood. Gosthun is good for curing boils. The horehound and are are made into syrups. Gosthum (the leaf off) is applied to boil.
