  1. (1) When going to bed the following prayer is recited -:
    As I lie down on my right side, I pray to God to be my guide ;
    If I die before I awake I give my soul to God to keep;
    There are four corners on my bed; there are four angels overhead ;
    Mathew, Mark, Luke and John bless the bed that I lie on.
    Lord be thy branch; and Lady be thy flower;
    Sweet Jesus have mercy on me at my last dying hour.
    (2) The following prayer is also said on retiring-:
    O most mercifull Jesus, have mercy on me,
    My soul, my body I resign unto thee;
    Thy five bleeding wounds were nailed to a cross;
    O, Most merciful Jesus have mercy on me.
