- (continued from previous page)He went out into a field nearby the children following and from underneath a rock he held up a piece of paper.
One of the children took the paper on which a message was written. He gave it to one of the men and immediately it went blank. Nothing was heard or seen of the little man for a month.
Then one frosty morning the neighbors were astonished to see the huge rock turned out of the ground and on the grass several footsteps were seen and candle grease, and two iron boxes were found.
It is supposed that people from another parish to which the little man must have gone suceeded in getting the message from him, and came over night and took with them the gold and other jewels which the boxes were supposed to contain.
