  1. Our farm animals are, the horse, the cows, the pig, and the calfs. [W.?] The domestic animal we have at home is the cat. When I am driving the cows out of the field in the evening, I say, "How, How."
    Our cow house is built of stone. It is roofed with thin. There is one open window in it. There is a manger inside. Then there is two poles stuck into the ground, and the cows are tied by a chain, and a hook. The name for the cow house is byre.
    When I am calling the horse I say "pyuh, pyuh." When calling the pig I say, "hurish" hurish, and when I am calling the calf I say, "suck, suck."
    O' St. Brigids day, the first day of February, people make crosses, and they are called St. Brigids crosses. They put them over the door of the cow house to bring
