Through the fort there is the remains of an old road. According to the story this cave contains untold treasures of gold which is guarded by a lion. A light is also seen almost nightly in the vicinity of this fort.
It is said that a man at one time succeeded in taking some of the treasure but when on his way to sell the treasure, he was struck dead as he passed by the fort.
The old folk in the district have heard what they describe as fairies dancing & singing in the fort as they passed by late at night.
