  1. Churning
We have a churn at home which is about nineteen inches high. The circumference is about four feet at the top, and four feet six inches at the bottom. The sides of it are round. We have it about six years. There is a dash in it for churning and it is kept in place by an axle which is screwed in tightly with a small key. In summer we churn twice a week and in Winter once a week. When a stranger come in he says "God save all here" and gives a helping hand at the churning or it is said that he will bring away all the butter with him.
It takes us about a quarter of an hour to churn.
