  1. Everywhere through the country we see ruins of churches, and attached to them are churchyards. There are several of them in the school district, the nearest one being in Rockfield, which is situated about a hundred yards north of the school in the parish of Castletown. The field, which is still called the churchyard field, is situated on a hill which slopes to the west. The old church is situated in the churchyard and there are people buried in the church also. The churchyard was used for burying unbaptized children and it has not been used since the old burial ground in Horseleap was opened. The graveyard is round in shape and there are trees
