    On twelfth day people light twelve rushes in a cake of cowdung and whosoever candle last the longest lives the longest.
    St Martins Day
    On St Martin's day a cock is killed or some blood is drawn and the blood sprinkled on the land.
    Peter and Paul's
    Peter and Paul's night is bonefire night. Formerly there use to be a fire lighted but now the custom has died away.
    Srove Tuesday
    On srove Tuesday people usually make pancakes and the put a ring in one of them whoever gets the ring will be married first.
