There are stories told about them.It is said that Mac Donnell's fort was ploughed and the next morning it was the same as before it was ploughed. Others say that a horse was let out to feed on it, and lost one of his legs.It is not known who built them or for what purpose. The Danes were not connected with them in any way. Fairy people are supposed to live in them, for noise was heard in one of them. There are no stories about cats and other animals having been seen in the neighbourhood of these forts.
