a bog called "O'Keefe's Bog". It is so called because it is owned by Mr. O'Keefe. Turf used to be cut there long ago, but it is a grazing field now.
In the same district there is a field called the "Limekiln Field" because the ruins of a limekiln are there still.
"The Castle Field" (also in this district) is so called because there is an old castle in it which belonged to De Lacy, long ago, and was used by him as a fortress.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
  2. The following are the names of fields on Mr Tiernan's and Mr. Rooney's farms:-
"The Church Meadow" so called because half-an-acre of the field was taken to make Crowenstown grave-yard.
"The Quarry Field" because, in days gone by there was a sandhole in one corner of it,
    the "Bush Field"
