Attempts were made to get it by Michael Flaherty and Peter Dowling from Ballynacargy, Co. Westmeath. They failed to get it. It was predicted that a life would be lost in the attempt. - Once upon a time a king and his son lived in the castle at Causestown. His son was very fond of hunting.
