    In the neighbourhood of Stackallen on the Slane and Navan road...

    In the neighbourhood of Stackallen on the Slane and Navan road on the northern bank of the river Boyne there are two objects. There are St Patrick's well, a blessed well dedicated to our patron saint, but now neglected and disused, and Barristown Cross, a wayside monumental cross the pillar or shaft of which, supported by a short pedestal or base stands on a small knoll near the road.
