A cure for the whooping cough is to take the child outside the parish boundary and to give it ferret's milk to drink
Thrush or croup is cured if the father of the sick child breathes in the child's mouth for three mornings running. Both of them must be fasting
The clay that remains after a person's boots on the threshold of the door is supposed to be blessed if he blesses the people as he comes in or goes out. This clay is collected and heated till it is dry and it cures a headache.
