    There is a graveyard called the Leck graveyard...

    There is a graveyard called the Leck graveyard near Donore chapel.
    Long years ago there was a thristle (as the relater of the story called a thistle), growing there, and people used to bring their children there to be cured of the chin-cough,- they used put them under the thristle.

    An old lady, named Mrs Smyth, who lived in Allen's Grove...

    An old lady, named Mrs Smyth, who lived in Allen's Grove, about a half mile outside the town of Drogheda, complained one time about the bell in the Dominican chapel annoying her. Her husband went and complained to the priest there, who said that she would never be troubled with it again.
    She became stone deaf in a few days.
