A new quarry was opened in Killineer...

A new quarry was opened in Killineer and ther was a "lone bush" in the workmen's way as they had to extend the quarry. None of them would cut the tree, but a man living near sais he would cut it as he did not believe in "pishreogs". So he cut it down. On his way home he met a friend who told him that he would be dead by that day week, but the other man laughed at him.

There is a bridge at "Bárr-a-Shúil"...

There is a bridge at "Bárr-a-Shúil" near Tullyallen and it is called "Candlestick Bridge", because it is believed that a woman stole the candlesticks from Tullyallen Chapel and placed them there and they are believed to be enchanted. When you look in you can see the candlesticks far in under the bridge.
