  1. The "town-meadow" to the north of the village of Collon gets its name from olden times, when the main street of the village ran along the bottom of that field, and was later abandoned as a road.
    In the time of Lord Masserene, deers were kept in a field in his demesne which is still known as the "deer park".

    "Cnoch an Ailis" a small hill gets its name from the sweating done there.

    "Cnoch an Aifrinn" in the district of Strinagh Collon. Mass was said on this hill in Penal days.

    "The Barrack gate" is where there was a yeomanry barracks.

    "The Black Hill" named on account of the dark wood with which it is topped.
