  1. The Penal times lasted for many years. It caused great trouble. There is a house in Termonfeckin in which a man names Mr. Braspen lived during the penal times. He stole the Mass book and the Priest went to his house for it and the mark of the horses hoof is on the step.
    The Mass was said in the houses as the Priests were in hiding. It is said there was a monastry in Termonfeckin and many Bishops and Priests were killed. Many Priests were, betrayed in this district.
