  1. Ralph Smyth was the landlord of this district. The Smyth family was settled three hundred years in the district. There is no account of how they first came to the district.
    Ralph Smyth was looked upon as being a bad landlord. He evicted many people from their homes. The evicted people then went other parts of the world.
    The land was not divided under their guidance. The tenants were punished for every trivial offence.
    Tithes were collected from the local farmers for the (misit) minister. These were composed of one sheaf out of every stook of corn.
