  1. There was once a young man named Dooley coming along the road early in the morning who was arrested by Foster's soldiers. He was tried before Foster & the sentence he got was to ride on a three year old filly which was never ridden before. She was haltered & bridled by the yeomen & taken up on the hill opposite the hall-door. Dooley had to get riding on the filly & Buck Foster's words to him were - "life or death for you or her now" and he ordered the yeomen to take off the halter & bridle & let the filly out without any.
