  1. This song was heard by John McDermott, Rassan, Dundalk when he was working beside the town of Rathfriland, Co. Down. It was made by a native of the town but he forgets his name. He heard the song from a young fellow named Robert Copelin, a native of the district.

    1st Verse

Oh, I have roamed in many lands and many sights I have seen,
But, ne'er was there a fairer one, in this dear isle of green,
It's a spot on earth that I love best,
    It's in my memory still
It's a little town in County Down
