This king, whose hospitality was famous, had the ill luck to be blind of an eye. An Ulster poet once visited him, and knowing that no request however great would be refused by the king, he demanded that which was most certain could not be granted, the kings only eye. To his great surprise and disappointment the latter thrust his fingers into his eye, tore it out by the roots and handed it to the poet.
