   Hurling was played in olden times in Co. Limerick. Nearly every parish or district had its own team. In those days, the game was called "Scubeen", and the ball was hurled over ditches and hedges from a given point between the contesting districts, the winners achieved hurling the ball home. The game was also called "hurling home".
   At one time there were no rules what-so-ever. Everybody pucked to get the ball his own way. Sometimes parishioners played against each other. (Sometimes it was like Mat the Thresher match from Knocknagow) The farmers v the labourers. In after years, they had some rules, and limited the men to twenty a side, when they had four poles the
