    the potatoes are over ground they are trenched. First the furrows are ploughed. Then they are trenched with a shovel. The potatoes are trenched two times. In the summer they are sprayed two times. In (?) they are dug. The way the potatoes are dug is with a spade. Then the potatoes are picked into a pit and left in field. The big ones are put into a pit by themselves and the small ones put into another pit. There are many different kinds of potatoes such as ................(?). The (?) are the best potatoes for eating.

  2. The potatoes are sown in Spring. We plant about a half-acre of potatoes. First we draw out the manure with a horse and butt, then we scatter the manure with a four prong pike. Then we make the ridges with two horses and a plough. There are four sods in each ridge. Then we hack the ground with a hack. Then we set the potatoes with a spade. There are three or four scileans in the width of the ridge they are pounded with a spade or a shovel. Then they
