  1. There is a field in lower Ballintubber in Mike Dwyers land called parknacoille. There used to be a ghost there. There was a woman unable to walk in upper Ballintubber. She was advised to go to parknacoille and that she would be cured. One dark night three or four men carried her down to offer up prayers. When they arrived below the ghost appeared with a white sheet on his head and two sods of red turf in his hands. She was so much afraid of him she began to move. On moving her bones loosened. She was moving until she came to the fence of road. She crawled up in the fence and fell out on the road and walked it home.
