    ground into flour by the housewife and then then wet with sour milk and baked in a pot oven over a turf fire.
    During the harvest time when the potatoes were dug out and ready to be stored for the winter the woman of the house usually made a potato cake by grating raw potatoes and drying them with flour and afterwards baking them in a hot griddle. When done it was eaten hot with butter and was considered a great treat. People seldom ate late at night those times.
