    The Local Fairs (continued)
    When the bargain is made at a fair they clinch it by striking palms and then the buyor puts some kind of mark on the cattle - sometimes with mud or sometimes with raddle. Then when the seller gets his money he nearly always gives what is called "luck penny" that is some small amount per head on the animals sold. If he doesn't give this he is considered a very mean fellow.
    People selling bulls at the fair must have then snaffled and they must give the snaffle to the buyer.
    The greatest fair of the year in Glin is held on the 1st of December. All kinds of stock are sold at this fair and there are always amusements after it. The night before the fair, cairs and lorries and men
