  1. There is a fort in Castlelyons, which can be sen from the roadside.
    It is in a field called "pairc na Sidhe" situated about two miles south of the village, a little to the east of the road leading to Rathcormac.
    Many of the old people in the district could tell strange stories about the fort. The fairies are supposed to be seen throughout the district on 'May Eve' and on 'November Eve'.
    The fairies are often seen dancing and singing around the fort at night.
    When a member of certain families in the district dies a strange light is seen, or a strange noise like that of a woman keening is heard. It is also said that if people enter this field on "May Eve" and on "November Eve" after midnight or before 6 o' clock in the morning they
