    There is a field in the lands of Mr Magnier, Grange, Fermoy known as the Brass Castle. It got its name from the ruins of an old castle which stands there. It is said that this castle was occupied by an Irish chief name Philip Brass. It is also said that an Norman noble beat and Irish noble in a great hand to hand fight on this field. The ruins of the castle are overgrown with bushes and briars
