  1. There are many stories told about the Holy Family and insects. After the massacre of the Holy Innocents the Holy Family were flying into Egypt from the soldiers. When they had passed along a little spider spun its web accross the way to conceal their flight.
    When the soldiers came up to the web they said "Surely they have not passed here or the web would be broken." They turned back therefore and thus the spider saved Our Lord. People say it is not right to kill a spider on account of its good act.
    Another story is told about the robin. When Our Lord was hanging on the cross the robin tried to relieve Him of His sufferings by pricking a thorn out of His head. In doing so a drop of blood fell on it s breast and from that day every robin has a red breast.
    One day the solders were seeking Our Lord
